This site is an online directory of farm vacations, Bed and Breakfasts, Ranches, Cabins and other rural accommodation rental businesses throughout the United States and around the world.
Web site is not up and running yet but we have a 50 acre organic farm in the Spanish mountains of Andalucia in the natural park of Sierra Maria Los Velez with eleven rooms, six are for guests starting in spring 09.
And we are completely off-grid.

Deb check out http://www.realestateinchile.com . I wouldn’t buy land in Mexico, but that’s just my personal opinion. Costa Rica is getting expensive and overcrowded. The Lakes District of Chile is very nice, akin to maybe the foothills of the Rockey Mountains in Colorado. Good luck!
I’m the owner of a one bedroom, one bath cabin with a one and a half car garage on five acres in Fort Garland, CO. The land is on the East facing slope of a gentle hillside facing a stocked lake and lush valley. The property is covered in pinon pine and I can see aspen trees and 12,000 foot white capped mountaintops from the enclosed porch. I need to rent the property for maintenance purposes as I now live on the East Coast. The property is off the grid (solar powered) and the water is from a private well (with underground cistern tank.) The stove, water heater and fridge all run off of propane.
